MAKE TIME FOR YOUR Kids

It is oftentimes a bit difficult for parents and their kids to dine together during a family meal, not to talk of spending quality time together as a family, there is nothing more that kids would like more, than having quality times with their parents. You can get up some minutes earlier in the morning so as to be able to eat breakfast with your child/children or take some walk with them after diner just to give them some attention and probably have some little conversation with them. Kids who do not get enough attention from their parents sometimes or oftentimes misbehave because they probably know that they could be noticed that way or in some other cases knows that their parents would be too busy to notice their misbehaviors.

It’s very rewarding to create time with your kids. Create what could be called ‘’special night’’ maybe each week (or as much as time permits) to be together and allow the kids to make some suggestions on how to spend the time.

You could also look for other ways to connect with your kids – You could put a nice note or something special in your kid’s lunch box. Adolescents seem to need less of undivided attention from their parents than the younger kids.

There are fewer opportunities for parents and teens to get together, so you should do your best to be available when your kids express a desire to talk or participate in family activities. Attending concerts, games, and several other events with your kids would send a sense of caring to them and you get to know more about your kids and their friends.

But don’t feel guilty if you are the round the clock working parent, only try as much as you can to make yourself available, no matter short the time could be, and try to do various little things as much as possible like making popcorns, playing cards, window shopping, etc.
